Your local shop has its own records of services they did for you. VeloLog is platform-independent — your record stays with the bike across multiple shops, multiple owners, and even if a shop goes out of business. It's the bike's history, not the shop's.
The new owner becomes the active custodian of the record. They get full read access to the service history. You stop appearing as the current owner — but your contributions to the record (services logged while you owned it) are preserved with your name snapshot frozen at the time.

Every service event is signed by the shop and contributes to the bike's veracity score weighted by that shop's reputation at the time. Shops that log fake services see their reputation drop, which devalues every service they've signed. The economic incentive is to be honest.
Open a dispute. The other party has 48 hours to respond. Both sides then have 7 days to submit evidence (police reports, receipts, photos, witness statements). The platform auto-rules at day 10 based on weighted evidence. You can request human review of the automated ruling under GDPR Article 22 — the review verifies the automation ran correctly, not the underlying merits. Substantive appeals go to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform or your national consumer authority.
Right to access, export, and erasure are built in. All personal data is encrypted at rest. We collect the minimum necessary, retain only what's legally required (7 years for billing records), and offer immediate/30-day/90-day deletion choices.
